By MARJORY REUBENE Petitions for junior officers in the League will be due at 5 p.m. tomorrow in the Undergraduate Office of the League. Included in the list of available positions are several jobs that very few people know about. One of these is the League parliamen- tarian. THIS POSITION, now held by Tulane Itkoff, was just recently created. Parliamentarian attends the meetings of both the Board of Representatives and the League Council and is responsible for pro- moting proper parliamentary pro- cedure at these meetings. It is, therefore, necessary that she be thoroughly familiar with the provisions of .the League constitution and also Robert's Rules of Order. Another duty of the parliamen- tarian is to revise the League con- stitution wherever necessary. Miss Itkoff revised the constitution this year and provision was made for any further changes which might be necessary in the future. * * * A SECOND POST available to sophomore women is Public Re- lations Committee assistant in charge of Art. Whenever any art work is needed for the League this person has charge of it. Exceptions to this are for those groups who have their own .. . ...... - -. .4 ~ $4Y.~*.- ' -.................... I/ art director. The art assistant's main job is with the League Lowdown, which is put out once a year. Duties of Dance class captains are not very well known. Their main job is to publicize the dance classes by contacting dormitories and, other residences. They also assist the chairman in obtaining hostesses for the classes. DANCE CAPTAINS check tick- ets and make sure the instructor is there for every dance class. Personnel committee assist- ants help the chairman in get- ting names of volunteers for hospital service and ushering, as well as for any other volun- teer work than an organization might like to have done. They keep the files up to date and notify people when it is their turn to usher or to do some other job. Each assistant is in charge of one special branch, such as hos- pital volunteers. OTHER POSITIONS that are available to any sophomore wo- man include: three positions on the interviewing and nominating committee, three positions on ju- diciary council, assistant to the secretary of the League and five merit-tutorial assistants. The list continues with: five assistants for public relations committee, four assistants for Ruthven Teas, two assistants for special events, chairman of transfer orientation, informa- tion booth chairman for orien- tation, secretary and social chairman for orientation com- mittee. Central committee positions for Junior Girl's Play include: chair- man, assistant chairman, director, assistant director, secretary, trea- surer, chairman of the costume committee and her assistant, dance committee chairman and assistant. Other positions are: make-up committee chairman, chairman of the music committee, composer, arranger, lyrics, choral director, p r o g r a m chairman, properties chairman and assistant, chairman of the publicity committee. The list concludes with: publi- city assistants in charge of Daily publicity, posters, stunts; scenery chairman, script chairman, stage manager and assistant, chairman of the ticket committee and ush- ering chairman.
