FAMJLIAR SCENE-Students patiently stand in line waiting
their turn to get into registration and stand in more lines. This
tedious bi-annual affair is welcomed by some students who con-
sider it an excellent chance to seek new friendships with those
whose last name begins with the same letter as their own.

SKELETON OF PAST-The dome of University Hall take a last look at campus before it is torn
down to make way for the new classroom buildings now under construction. 'U' Hall was one of the
oldest buildings on campus and served as a familiar landmark for years.

A WATERY DEFEAT-The class of '53, otherwipe known as sophomores, swept to their second
straight victory in the annual frosh-soph tug of war across the murky waters of the Huron River.
Freshmen shown above are about to go under for the third time, as they were ignominiously defeat-
ed. In the SL dictionary, tug week is synonymous with school spirit. For the Ensian, it means
another campus event to cover with on-the-spot shots.

ANXIOUS PLAYERS WATCH-Uneasy Wolverines looked on from their fifty-yard line seats as
things are not going so well for their teammates on the gridiron. This apparently was one of those
moments when Michigan supporters tore their hair out by the roots. However, it all grew back again
eventually as Bennie's boys swept to the Big Ten title and a Rose Bowl victory.
