Wrestling will begin Monday and finals are scheduled for Thursday. In order to enter wrestling competition, four prac- tice sessions are required. Approx- imately 70 boys have been work- ing out each night this week in the I-M building. * * * INTRAMURAL BOWLING will start Thursday. The defending champs, Sigma Phi Epsilon, have' lost four of their first five men' from last year's squad. Only Ross Herron is back this year, but he expects considerable help from Chick Gast and Chuck Eden. Eight houses remain in con- tention f o r t h e swimming championship. Last week Zeta Psi defeated Delta Tau Delta and Chi Phi crushed Beta The- ta Pi, 44-14. Point-getters for Chi Phi were Bill Johnson and Glen Osgood who captured first places in the 50-yard and 25- yard free-style events, respec- tively. Milt Goetz won top honors in the 25-yard back-stroke, while Harry Jones finished first in the 25-yard - breast-stroke e v e n t. Johnson, Goetz and Jones team- ed together to win the medley re- lay race. LAST YEAR'S volleyball cham- pion, Sigma Phi Epsilon, will meet the Betas in their semi-final match Tuesday. Sigma Phi eli- minated Theta Xi, 4-2, in the quarter-finals. Returning from last year's championship team are Chuck Eden, Dave Campbell and Fred Auch. Rounding out the first team is Chick Gast, Bob Ohi- heiser and Ross Tfalsgraff. Handball play-offs start Wed- nesday. Seven teams have already qualified for the first place play- off positions; four more are to be added. A strong contender is undefeat- ed Kappa Sigma. Dick Knight and Dick Manchee play singles, while George Gretenberger and Dick Blake team up for doubles com- petition. The defending champ- ion, Sigma Phi Epsilon, has al- ready been eliminated. Z VIRGIL THOMSON, Composer and Critic, says in The New York Herald Tribune "A historical document . . . a first class execution of the decade. This is what Verdi's 'Rigoletto' looks like when performed by the best contemporary artists." .s [-IC, TODAY -~ -~.m i I r w I __.__._- roWaI R EII NS FOR ISP- JANE y MANLATE EARL WILSON PICKS JANE WMAN SHOW DOROTHY KILGALLEN PICKS KiRK DOUGLAS TO- RUDE LWRENCE NIGHT ,.} cnOL PICKS GERTRUELWEC 1 I LOUIS S-'O PHOTOPLAY MAGAZINE PICKS ARTHUR KENNEP P H OTOPLA rJ \ A * ~ ~~e W~~Awl SUPPORT PHOENIX DRIVE NOW I-M Scores Fraternity . .
