COEDS CAN SING TOO: Sorority Serenaders Answer Fraternity Call At Rushing By MAD DAVIS "Turn about is fair play," was the statement most frequently heard in fraternity houses during their rushing season. Several sororities were asked to have their members exercise their vocal chords by serenading the fraternities during rushing. * * * THE COEDS replied to most of the requests in the affirmative, and sallied forth between 7 and 9 p.m. to give their all. SOME OF THE SORORITIES, once out in the cool, if brisk and slightly damp, evening air, decided they were having a tremendous time, and serenaded a few lucky fraternities unexpectedly. Response to these impromptu -or otherwise-song fests was amazing to the women. The Thetas went to serenade the Chi Phis, and on their way back home, dropped in to give the SAE's and the Phi Delts a thrill. All of the fraternities answered with a song of their own, usually their sweetheart song. SORORSIS AND ALPHA CHI serenaded the Chi Phi house. The Alpha Chis went on to sing to The- ,a Chi and ATO. One of the songs the men lik- ed best, the coeds reported, was a number entitled "My Michi- gan Man." Man's ego is a won- derful thing. As yet, the sororities have not heard whether or not there were good results from their efforts. However, they predict that this year more men will be affiliated than ever before. independents' Fortnite Skits To Beuded "They eyes of Assembly are up- on you," state the co-chairmen of that group's annual presentation of Fortnite, Helen Yeager and Martha Tompkins. All dormitories and independent women's residences produce five- minute skits at this event, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. Mon- day, October 23, in Pattengill Audi- torium. General theme for this year's Fortnite is "The Eyes Have It." Decorations and programs will fol- low this theme. Each skit is written, produced and directed by the coeds in their respective dormitories. Originality and presentation will be the pre- dominant factors in judging the short plays. Scholarship and activity awards will also be presented to winning houses. BALLET CLUB-Dorish Marsh, John Chiapuris, and William Nye, ballet club members, are shown displaying their dance ability. The co-recreational club will hold its organizational meeting at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Barbour Gym Dance Studio. - I YOU'LL BE PRETTY AS A PICTURE STAR in this , "T . .X "'** 4* t.
