The German and classical lan- guage departments will be the guests of the last Panhel-Assem- bly-sponsored function of the se- mester. Cokes, potato chips and cookies, will be served. The hours, particularly designed for students who dislike the im- personality of large classes, bring an opportunity for meeting the faculty on an informal basis. Friendly Contacts with profes- sors are important in gaining fu- ture recommendations for Bureau of Appointment blanks and in ful- filling other personal reference re- quirements. Conversing with faculty mem- bers is frequently helpful in de- termining selection of courses and in solving problems relating to ca- reers. The student-faculty hour committee has also reported that students who have attended past get-togethers have found many faculty wives as interesting to speak with as their husbands. Student-faculty hours are open to all students whether they are concentrates in the department being honored or not. The Grand Rapids Room offers a variety of recreational facilities to supple- ment conversation including ping pong, checkers, playing cards zxnd a television set. Co-chairmen for this semester's hours were Lois Kennedy, repre- senting Panhellenic and Pat Doyle, representing Assembly.
