Inky black velvet touches pro-- vide startling contrasts to the pale, filmy apparel which is being fea- tured for dress wear. A great abundance of separate velvet arti- cles which offer endless possibili- ties for combination are now avail- able. * * * CLEVER combinations of such matching articles add sparkle to the new and old outfits in any wardrobe. Velvet accessories are also im- portant additions to the more, casual dresses, suits and blouses,1 especially those which have vel- veteen trim in the form of col- lars, cuffs or both.- The warmth and color which fur accessories lend are fully high- lighted against the bareness and simplicity of many of the new fashions.1 FOR FORMAL wear delicate neckpieces in a variety of furs are being shown. Some of the neck- lets are plain, others have strands of pearls of rhinestones circling them for added brilliance. Wide selections of accessories to enhance coats trimmed in leopard, ermine, beaver and other furs are being featured this year. Matching muffs are coming back into style and the newest are equipped with hand- bag compartments inside. Other effects which will accen- tuate the trim on a coat with most favorable results are head-hug- ging cloches and skull caps. Fur scarves, too, are attractive decora- tions which add life to uninter- esting looking topclothes. For informal wear, fur pieces are also playing a major role in this winter's wardrobe. Fur ascots and belts are popularly worn with casual wool dresses and skirt and sweater or blouse combinations. New fur pins which may be worn in many ways, to fasten a scarf or ascot at the neck or to brighten a plain looking outfit are now on the market. They are made up of ermine tails. Grad Students To Hold Mixer FeaturingMovie The third graduate mixer of this year, called the "Turkey Trot," will be held from 8:30 p.m. to mid- night tomorrow in the Rackham Ballroom. There will be dancing, bridge, and canasta. For added entertain- ment, the movie "Music in Amer- ica," the history of American mu- sic, mostly jazz, will be shown. The movie will feature such famous personalities as George Gershwin, Benny Goodman, Serge Kousse- vitsky, Mischa Elman, and Mar- ian Anderson. Students of graduate standing from all schools are invited to at- tend. Refreshments will be served. There will be a twenty-five cent admission charge. GO HOME FOR THANKSGIVING!
