The West Quad Radio Club has been in contact with Australia, Hawaii, several South American countries, Mexico, Canada and many American stations. - LAST YEAR the club estab- lished weekly programs with Queen's University in Kingston, during which radio enthusiasts from both sides of the border ex- changed information on every- thing from technical problems to social news. . Equipment used by the club includes a BC 610 transmitter and other army surplus receiv- ing equipment. Last semester, a rotary beam antenna built by the members was set up on the West Quad tower. The Radio Club is the only am- Ateur radio station permitted by the University to erect antennas in the residence halls. THE ONLY qualifications for membership are residence in the West Quad and an interest in radio. Code classes will be conducted for new members interested in getting licenses.
