Introduced into the residence hall as a result of student peti- tioning, the small cafeteria has done a roaring business of up to 400 hungry men each night since its inception. OPEN FROM 8:30 to 11 p.m. each day except Saturday, the snack bar is designed to be on a r non-competitive basis with outside food establishments. Although its prices are fixed according to those in the Michi- gan Union, local restaurant ow- ners in the area have complain- ed of evening customer drops of up to 50 per cent. The snack bar is stocked com- pletely by the University Food Service, staffed by five Univer- sity employes, and uses East Quad kitchen facilities. University officials have declin- ed to comment on the possibility of extending the service to other dormitories.
