Third place playoffs will find Cooley, Prescott, Lloyd, and Win- clell in the running, and Wenley, Anderson, Vaughan, and Hinsdale Houses will fight it out for the fourth spjot. * * * THERE WASBalso plenty of ac- tivity on the "B" basketball front this week, and all playoff berths have been determined. Adams, Winchell, Fletcher, and Hinsdale will compete for first place, and Michigan, Cooley, Prescott, and Tyler are in the running for the second spot. Third place playoffs will in- volve Chicago, Wenley, Greene, and Anderson. Williams, Lloyd Hayden, and Allen-Rumsey, last year's winner, 'will play for fourth. Prescott then mangled Strauss, 44-19, with Du- ane Possanza scorching the nets for 28 points, including 21 in the first half. * * * MICHIGAN HOUSE had a suc- cessful week, sweeping two games from Chicago, 31-25, and Wil- liams, 23-15. Vaughan House, however, was not nearly so fortu- nate, losing 25-20 to Williams, and absorbing a 58-15 shellacking at the hands of Adams. Bill Brenton scored 17 points to lead Fletcher's "B" five to a 32-30 win over Hay- den. Due to the fact that so many in- dependent teams competed this season, no less than ten teams will play for the cage championship of that league. The ten are: Big Reds, Hawaiians, Mugwumps, Campus Club, Foresters, Mealmarters, Mo- biles, Boodinese, Lazy Aces, and Lutherans.
