PAGE TWO THE MI CHIGAN DAILY -U Faust To Be Seen Saturday Will Commemorate German Poet Goethe In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great German poet-dramatist Jo- hann Wolfgang von Goethe, the German department and the Duetscher Verein will enact scenes from "Faust" at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Lydia Mendels- sohn Theatre. Tickets may be purchased at the box office from 2-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday. CORNELIA OTIS SKINNER: Talent Show Own Monologues To Be Given Here Hunts Local DAI LY OFFICIAL B.ULLE'I'IN __ - . i i I Cornelia Otis Skinner will bring her famous program of monologue to the stage of Hill Auditorium at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in a two-part program sponsored by the Ora- torical Series. The first part of the program will consist of three modern mono- logues written by the actress. MISS SKINNER will then pre- sent her unique interpretation of the six "Wives of Henry VIII" in six scenes. Background music will be provided by a small chamber orchestra from the School of Music. A special stage set is under construction for the perform- ance. Dramatizing scenes from the period from 1532 to 1547, Miss Skinner will portray episodes in the lives of Catherine of Aragon, U' Vocalists Score Victory Charlotte Boehm, '49SM, won first prize in a state-wide singing contest sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs last week-end. Evelyn Wohlgemuth, also a music student here, took second place. The two Michigan winners will compete with winners from Ohio and Indiana March 5 for regional awards. Miss Boehm, who is a pupil of Arthur Hale, will give a concert in Ann Arbor April 28.
