In an effort to place stress on prevention of violations this year, Women's Judiciary Council last week distributed enough copies of "Campus Regulations and House Rules" throughout the residence halls so that every woman on cam- pus could obtain a copy. Members of the council have en- deavored to clarify these rules in a revised edition of the booklet. They have expressed their willing- ness to attend any house meetings upon request in case there are still some questions regarding rules. Having had only one probation- ary case in the first two weeks of the fall semester, Judiciary feels it is off to a good start. Between May, 1947 and May, 1948, 128 women appeared before the coun- cil, 96 of whom were placed on so- cial probation. * * * THE MOST FREQUENT of- fenses are latenesses, failure to sign out over the weekend, being out over night during the week Personnel Meeting Personnel chairmen of league houses and dormitories will meet at 5 p.m. tomorrow in the Garden Room of the League. Those representatives unable to attend are to call Marion Grant 2-3225. without permission from the face of the Dean of Women misuse of late permission. Of- and Open House Features T-V The Assembly Association will sponsor open houses from 7:30 to 10 p.m. every Sunday beginning today in the Grand Rapids Room of the League. A new television set, will help provide entertainment. There will also be dancing to juke box music, bridge, and ping pong. There will be a meeting at Wyvern at 5 p.m. tomorrow in the Cave of the League for all members. Another situation which often causes difficulties, according to Pat Hannagan, Judiciary Coun- cil president, is signing out for vacations. If women wish to leave their residences before the official time set for the begin- ning of a vacation, they must obtain permission from the Of- fice of the Dean of Women. Women often don't realize that if they are away for a weekend and change their plans for returning Sunday, they must notify the house director. * * * SPECIFIC QUIET hours are a matter of individual house deci- sion, but these hours must be reg- istered with Judiciary Council which supervises their enforce- ment.
