R. J. Reichert beat Lee Set- omer to capture the All-Campus Paddleball championship. Ronald Getoor reached the semifinals, and Lee Setomer and Bud Wittus are in the quarters in the All-Campus table tennis com- petition. John Scopis defeated Lee Set- omer 2-10, 20-21, and 21-16 to take the All-Campus handball championship. Psi U., Delta Tau Delta, Sig Ep, Zeta Beta Tau, and Sigma, Phi have reached the quarterfinals in the fraternity tennis tournament. Beta Theta Pi defeated Theta Xi, and then D. U. to move into the quarterfinals in the only games played in the fraternity horseshoes matches. The East Quad Sports Banquet will be held Tuesday, May 25. The West Quad Sports Banquet is scheduled for Wednesday, May 26. \ / WAA Notices Tennis-Preliminary and first round matches must be completed as soon as possible. Tournaments players will have Palmer field courts 14, 15 and 16 reserved for play only at the following hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 5:15 to 8:15 p.m.; and Tuesday and Thursday, 8:15 to 10:15, 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 5:15 to 8:15 p.m. Players will also have use of the courts at regular Fri- day and Saturday practice ses- sions for tournament play. From 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Saturday will be additionally reserved. Archery-The club will hold the final meeting at 4 p.m. Friday in the WAB. All members are urged to be present, according to Gwen Keister, manager. Over 60 Teams To Compete In Annual I-M Spring Event Over 300 mashie-wielders will Itil 4 in the afternoon, regardless take to the University links next Saturday in the annual Intra- mural golf tournament. Upwards from 60 teams will compete to decide the 1948 cham- pions in four separate IM divi- sions. The top 16 individuals, re- gardless of team, will cdmpete at a later date for All-Campus cham- pion honors. The fraternities, both general and professional; the Indepen- dents; and the Residence Halls; will dust off their clubs for the yearly spring outing. The first foursome will tee -off at 7:30 Saturday morning and the parade of golf enthusiasts will continue at 6-minute intervals un- of the weather. Defending champions in the general fraternity division, Phi Delta Theta, have at least three of their winning combination returning with the possibility that the fourth member of the team will also be able to play. Ted Morford, John Madden, and Phil Beukema will tour the links Saturday for the Phi Delt's. Bob Williams will make their fourth man. Phi Delta Phi, professional fra- ternity champs, has two players back from last year's contingent. Bob Hamilton and Hank Eager will shoot Saturday. Chuck Men- ninger, Jack McGrath and Bill Wood will round out the squad. In the Residence Halls league, Hinsdale House will attempt to re- tain its crown with a brand new squad. Frank Smith, Oliver Sils- by, Tom Gregg. Robert Glanz, and Phil Bruce will be swinging for the championship. Pro fessional Frats Decide SoftballTitles The Piofessional Fraternity champs in softball play were fin- ally determined by last week's games. Heading their respective leagues are Phi Epsilon Kappa, Alpha All teams interested in par- ticipating in the I-M golf tour- nament are requested to turn in their lists of players imme- diately. Kappa Kappa, Delta Sigma Delta, and Phi Delta Phi, with Nu Sigma Nu, Phi Alpha Kappa, Phi Rho Sigma, and Phi Chi in the runner- up slots. The first place playoffs were scheduled to begin yesterday but all games were rained out. On the tennis front, Nu Sigma Nu was handed a forfeit from Delta Sigma Pi, and Phi Alpha Kappa copped ol three matches in downing Phi Chi. Inclement weather kept Resi- dence Hall sports to minimum this week. On the tennis scene Vaughan House and Allen-Rumsey are in the lead with two victories each as most of the other teams have been unable to keep up their schedules because of rain. Horseshoe Winners In horseshoes Tyler, Williams, Winchell, and Lloyd House hold the victories in the only four matches completed to date. The softball season is drawing to a close with league champion- ships falling to Vaughan in League I, Strauss in League II, Wenley in League III, and Adams in League IV. East Quad Playoff Monday Vaughan will meet Strauss for the East Quad Cham- the undefeated in the first round of softb"ll playoffs last Saturday. In a close contest, Newman 'A' edged the Easterners 4-2. The Phys. Eds., behind another well pitched game by Mont- gomery, defeated Michigan Christian Fellowship 8-0. Stan Sauerhoft led The Michi- gan Daily to a 15-6 victory over Club 1208 with a home run and a triple. This is the second time The Daily squad has beaten Club 1208. Falcons forfeited their game to Hillel. Friday aifternoon, the For- resters will meet the Phys. Eds. The winner will tangle with the victor in the Gooser-Mis-fit con- test Saturday. The NROTC and the Chanticleers will battle Fri- day for the playoff spot against the Foul Balls Saturday.
