Wolverines To Tennis Team To Play Irish At South Bend Wolverine netmen will set out for South Bend, Indiana, Satur- day morning to take on the netters ' of Notre Dame that afternoon. The tennis team, bouncing back after their defeat in Lansing Wed- nesday, will oppose a strong Irish squad. The Wolverines bowed 6-3 when the two teams met here last year. Six Michigan men will make the trip. Still holding down the num- ber one slot is Andy Paton. How- ever in the second position Cap- tain Bob Mikulich is slated to take Fred Otto's place for this match at least. Fred, who was sick during the matches at Lansing and is some better will hold down the number three berth for the Maize and Blue. Netman number four is Jack Hersch with George Naugle and Bob McKay taking care of the fifth and sixth spots respectively for the Wolverines. The best Rose Bowl pictures are in 'Ensian. Allen Takes New Position George Allen, line coach of the 150 pound team, followed the re- cent trend of Michgian coaches when he reported that he will be- come head football coach at Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa. Allen, who received his, BA in '47 and his master's degree last February in physical education, will also assist with the baseball squad and instruct several physi- cal education classes. His duties will begin sometime in August when fall gridiron practice gets underway. Although the 150 pound-squad worked mainly with the T-form- ation last year, Allen is basically well grounded in the single wing attack. He will probably select as his assistant, another Michigan graduate who is also familiar with this style of play. I-M BASEBALL Professional League Corrections Phi Chi, Tau Epsilon, post- poned. The remainder of the Maize and Blue four-man contingent will consist of Jerry Weiler, John McCloy, and Bill Telfer. Their opponents in the individual matches will be Bob Nichols, Howard Slocum, and Don Hock- rein, respectively.
