Wine-Gar has returned from a tour of Michigan cities during the Christmas vacation. His student 1 band will feature the voice of Nola, Fergie Ferguson on the drums, and Will Brask, piano. Jackson and his troupe, includ- ing Dick McWilliams, Andy Prin- gle,s George Olsen and Dave Thomas, will present a program of comedy and dance acts. Russian and French dances will be featured by the Five, followed by Jackson in' an imitation of Phil Harris and his Dark Town Poker Club. The regular Casbah broadcast from 10 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday over Station WHRV will feature a program of Wine-Gar's music. Tickets for the weekend dances Zarb Informal At Foresters' Paul Burtyan' Honoring the mythical giant of the north woods, the Foresters' Club wili present the "Paul Bun- yan Formal,"1 with Phil Levant and his orchestra, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. tomorrow in Waterman and Barbour Gymnasiums. The so-called "formal" is tra- ditionally strictly informal. Guests arrive equipped for the woods with jeans, plaid shirts, knee-high boots and hunting licenses. Levant and his group, featuring Shirley White as vocalist, who have just completed a six-week engagement at Chicago's "Black- hawk," will play in the shade of Waterman Woods, where real 30- foot trees will ine the gym. Cider and doughnuts will be sold to guests for the price of a few beaverskins. Photographers will be on hand to pose coumples in a log-sawing setting. Women attending the dance will receive late permission. Legue Revises ward System Importance of Position To Decide Credit, Recognized Activities Will Merit Points A revised point system for undergraduate women's activities was approved at a recent meeting of the League Council. This new system is made on the basis of 100 points for the high- est possible office for women, President of the League. The number of points range from 5 to 100. Points are given on the basis of the ac- tivities participated in by the coed, and not on the basis of the num- ber of hours spent on the project. Formerly, points were given to the various activities, not ac- cording to their importance, but to the number of hours required each week for the job. The new system is recorded with the Merit-Tutorial Committee of --- -_ the League. The AOP's will hold a winter formal today in the Henderson Rm. of the League. Ken Nor- man's orchestra will provide music for dancing. Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Barnard, Mr. and Mrs. R. Dixon and Mr. and Mrs. Angus MacDonald of Ann Arbor will be guests. Phi Sigma Kappa will hold an informal record dance from 9 p.m. to midnight today. The house will be decorated and cokes, cookies and potato chips are to be served as refreshments. The Theta Xi's have planned a record dance at their house today, following the hockey game. SDT will have a sleigh ride today. There will be dancing and refreshments at the house afterwards in a winter carnival atmosphere. Johnny Harberd and his band will furnish music-at the Phi Delt house tomorrow when the pledges present an informal dance for the activities. Guests will wear jeans and plaid shirts so that they may attend the "Paul Bunyan Formal" after the dance. Affiliated women will be hon- ored for activities and scholarship during the program, but the theme will not be realed until that night. Individual and house activities will be compiled under a new merit system this year. House ac- tivity awards will not include sports clubs, as they have in the past. However, individual awards will include sports clubs. Points for awards are computed for this fall only. An activities cup will be award- ed for the first time this year to the sorority having the highest number of activities. Dean Alice C. Weddings & Engagements Mr. and Mrs. Ray Holmes of Lakeview, Michigan announce the recent engagement of their daughter, Mabel, to Raymond O. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Clason of Chicago.
