Levant, with Shirley White as starring vocalitst, has just com- pleted a six-week engagement at Chicago's "Blackhawk," where he was -praised for his smooth, .sweet, really-danceable music. The strictly informal dance is sponsored by the Foresters' Club and is under the chair- ; manship of Keith Truettner. Guests will come attired in woodsmen's garb-blue jeans, plaid shirts and boots. Waterman Woods will be the scene of dancing, while Barbour Gym will be converted into a typical lumber camp trading post. For the price of a few beaver skins guests may buy cider and doughnuts, and smoking will be permitted in a specially construct- ed corral. Actual 30-foot trees cut from the Forestry School's own plan- tations will lend a woodsw at- mosphere to the gym. Deer heads and animal skins will dec- orate the trading post. The foresters will present a floorshow during intermission which will feature a "bucking" or log-sawing contest between sev- eralcouples chosen from the dancers. Prizes will be awarded to the winners as well as to the winner of the age-guessing contest now in progress in University Hall. A cross-section of a tree is revealed to purchasers of "Paul Bunyan" tickets, who give an estimate of its age by the number of annual rings. Late permission will be granted to the women attending the dance. Weekly duplicate bridge play will be held at 7:30 p.m. to- day in the League. Both stu- dents and townspeople are in- vited to attend.
