a necessity by almost 40 per cent
of the speech students on campus,
but an equal number are open to
conviction one way or the other,
according to Michigan debate
Coach Donald Kleckner.
Kleckner disclosed the figures I
after tallying the votes of more
than 500 speech students who
heard both sides of the question
at the annual Invitational Debate
Meet held here. In post-debate
balloting, 203 students voted for
world government, 112 opposed it
and 202 remained undecided.
Results of the ballotting indi-
cated that information and facts
concerning world government are
not widely available. This was
reflected in the reduction of "un-
decided" votes from 300 before the
debate to 202 after the debate.
