After spending many hours of work in various campus activi- ties, I would consider it an honor to represent the senior class as president. This office also holds many responsibilities, which I pledge to fulfill to the best of my ability. Anita Sobel*... My platform is simple: Good class administration now, and better alumni organization and meetings "hereafter." Leonard Ford ... I believe that my affiliations with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the M Club, the Men's Physical Education Club, the Sphinx and the Education Club attest to my possessing the necessary qualifi- cations for the office of president of the senior class. Lewis Horton ... I feel that I am particularly qualified for class president by: a sincere interest in, and an earn- est desire to serve my class, now and in the years to come; a long experience in thetvarious offices of several organizations; and per- manent residence in Ann Arbor close to Alumni headquarters. Clarence Smigiel ... I believe that an officer of a class should represent the will of the class as a whole. Furthermore, he should be willing to give his support to suggestions made by individuals when they are for the good of the class. If I am elected to office, you, fellow students, will be heard! Gerry Fahrenkof .. . On the cornerstone of sound education rests our American democracy. Free thought stems from a population taught by trained educators. We education students of the class of '48 should strive for higher goals to be wor- thy of our profession and'the trust of the nation. To this end I pledge my efforts. For vice-president: Betty Gibbs ... have served as president of Henderson House council and as president of several organizations at Port Huron Junior Council as well as serving on the Student Council. These have given me ex- perience in the administration of students groups. I would consider it an honor to serve as vice-pres- ident of the senior class. Naida Chernow ... I have been interested in the activities of the University and the education school. Will be glad to serve the senior class now and after graduation through alumni groups. Will try to make this school more friendly and give opportunity for all to have voice in activities of the school. For secretary: Beverly Reeder .. . Since I have been secretary of my house for two years, I feel that I am qualified for the position of secretary of the senior class of the education school. It would be a great honor if I were elected. Mrs. Theda Drake ... I would appreciate the honor of being elected secretary of my class. I have held comparable offices in high school and college and therefore feel qualified. I am interested in the education school and currently I am a member of the undergraduate Student Advi- sory Committee. For treasurer: Kurt Kampe ... I offer my activities as a mem- ber of the executive committee of Phi Epsilon Kappa, the honorary professional physical education fraternity, and treasurer of the Men's Physical Education Club as testmony of my ability to be a capable treasurer for our senior class. Dorothy Woodbury,. . I feel that I am qualified to be- come an officer of the senior class of the education school. I shall attempt to carry out the wishes of the class members and to perform the duties of my of- fice to the best of my ability. Mabel Holmes ... As an officer of the graduating class I would continue to active- ly represent the education school graduates as I have the under- graduates for the past two years. This representation has been as a two-year member of the under- graduate Education Advisory Committee, past staff member and present editor of Inkwell, student publication. Mary Lou Marsh .. . I should be very glad to serve the graduating class of the edu- cation school as your treasurer if you so desire. I have been a -mem- ber of WAA and a member of the central committee of Olympic Ball, 1946-1947.
