The Women's Judiciary Council, acting in conjunction with the Of- fice of the Dean of Women, is conducting a systematic check on the enforcement of quiet hours and closing times in all women's residences. It is a regular function of the council to check the hours to see that they are enforced and to punish those who violate the rules. Judiciary Council consists of six members. Each member is respon- sible for a certain number of houses on campus and the en- forcement of the rules therein. At least one senior and one .junior member of the council will visit each undergraduate house. At this time, they will check quiet hours and see that they are being kept. If it is dis- covered that the house is too noisy for studying and that quiet howrs are not being ob- served, the housenpresident will be informed. The council members will also check the, closing hours for each house, and the officers of any of- fending house will be brought be- fore the Council. Each coed is responsible for knowing and observing the house rules as stated in the pamphlet, "Campus Regula- tions, House Rules." Copies of this pamphlet are available in the Undergraduate Office of the League. Violators of the rules will appear before the Council and will be sub- ject to social probation. The length of the probation is deter- mined by the circumstances of the individual violations in accordance with past precedent. Members of the Judiciary Coun- cil are as follows: Betty Hahne- man, chairman; Sarah Jane Stephenson, secretary; Virginia Olberding, senior member; and Polly Hanson, Helen Olsher and Eileen Scanlon, junior members.
