BIG GUNS-Dom Tomasi (left), Wolverine guard, and Bob
Chappuis, Maize and Blue halfback, two of Michigan's outstand-
ing gridders this year. Tomasi has received All-Conference men-
tion for the past two, years, and CJhappuis is being touted as an
All-American possibility. Both players are also members of the
Wolverine baseball team.

bination in Earl "Jug" Girard (left), and Earl Maves. Girard
was an outstanding Big Nine back in '44 and Maves running
ability got him the nickname of the "Stanley Steamer."
