NOW New Zealand University Life Is Discussed Visitors Impressed By 'U' Enrollment Enrollment in the University of New Zealand has shown an in- crease in proportion to that shown by colleges and universities in this country since the war, accord- ing to 12 students from New Zea- land who visited the University yesterday. Impressed by the size of the Uni- versity, the group explained that the University of New Zealand is comphsed of four colleges lo- cated in different parts of the is- land, and having a total enroll- ment of about 10,000. Former members of the armed services receive allotments from the government for their college education, similar in kind and amount to those granted in the United States, they said. However, the lower cost of liv- ing enables the New Zealand vet- eran to live on his allotment with- out supplementing it from other sources, they said. Although the students and classes in the universities in this country are very similar to those in New Zealand, the comparative amount of freedom in the high school classes here was noted by the group after a visit to Univer- sity High School. Girls in New Zealand high schools wear uniforms and long black stockings, except during the summer, they said. Graduate and undergraduate student members of their college biological society, these students sponsored and directed the trip which has taken them to all the prominent universities in the Unit- ed States and Canada. Cardinal Tisserant To Lecture Here Eugene Cardinal Tisserant, a member of the upper staff of the Vatican Library in Rome, has ac- cepted an invitation to visit the University in the early part of May, while traveling through the United States, Dr. Frank Robbins, assistant to the president, an- nounced yesterday.
