Lowenthal recently returned from Palestine, where he delivered a series of lectures at the He- brew University in Jerusalem on the spirit of American life and literature. Shortly after World War I, Low- enthal visited Europe and the Near East and warned the world that Nazism would soon triumph in Germany. For the next ten years he was a correspondent, editor and writ- er and served as representative of the Jewish minority interests at the League of Nations. Dur- ing this period he wrote his unique history of Jewish art and civili- zation, "A World Passed By." Lowenthal is known to radio audiences as a chairman on the Columbia Broadcasting System's "Invitation to Learning" and a speaker on political programs. The lecture is open to the pub- lic.
