The senior judiciary position is open only to independent coeds; un- affiliated women are especially urged to petition. The candidate for this position must have an eligibility card and must submit the names of a housemother and professor, and the names of two upper classmen as ref- erences. Constitution Knowledge Reviewed The candidate is requested to look through the League Constitution which is in the League Library. She is also expected to know the rules of a council member, have a know- Cards Planned For Assembly Assembly membership cards will be issued to all independent women dur- ing Independent Fortnight, in an ef- fort to promote unity within Assem- bly Organization. These cards will be used for var- ious social functions sponsored by the group. The name and address of the member as well as the Assembly emblem will appear on the face of the card. The back will carry the "Dec- laration of Independents," a creed written by the Assembly Board. A mass meeting at 8 p. m. Monday at the League will open Fortnight activities. This will feature a hu- morous quiz show, answering vital questions that every Michigan woman wants to be able to answer. The skit of the evening will present the history of the Michigan coed since she first appeared on campus. Members of Assembly Board will be introduced, and Assembly's theme song will be sung. ledge of the workings of the League and know the house rules of the Uni- versity. Any ideas or criticisms con- cerning the present Council are to be included in the petition. All eligible junior coeds may peti- tion for the two vacant positions on the JG Play central committee. Transfer women with junior ratings are urged tohpetition. Information concerning the position of costume chairman and the position of assist- ant director may be procured from the bound President's Report which is in the Social Director's Office in the League. Eligibility Cards Needed The two JG Play positions require no recommendations. Eligibility cards, however, must be presented at the interviews. Interviewing for the cos- tume chairman and assistant director will be held from 3 p. m. to 5 p. m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Nov. 16 in the League. The coed petitioning for the Merit- Tutorial chairmanship must have an eligibility card, the name of a house- mother and the names of two upper classmen. Only senior women are eligible for the office. Interviewing To Be Monday Interviewing for the judiciary posi- tion and the Merit-Tutorial chair- manship will be from 2 p. m. to 4 p. m. Monday and Tuesday in the League. Coeds petitioning for the senior judiciary membership are asked to have their interviewing time on Monday, if possible. Petitions for all of the above posi- tions may be obtained in the Social Director's Office in the League. In- terviewing sheets for all of the posi- tions will be posted in the Undergrad- uate. Office. There will be a meeting of the War Activities Awards Committee for Assembly Recognition Night at 3 p. m. today in the League. The room will be posted in the Under- graduate Office. Each member must bring her eligibility card. Eligible Sophs May Try Today For Floorshow Try-outs for the floor show of the 1945 Soph Cabaret will be held from 2 p. m. to 4 p. m. today and from 10 a. m. until noon tomorrow in the League according to Barbara Lee Smith, Cabaret floor show chairman. Tryouts for parts, including the dancing and singing choruses, will be conducted by Miss Smith and Betty Spillman, choral chairman. Women trying out must be members of the sophomore class and must have eligi- bility cards. Singers are requested not to bring any music, as they will be tried out on material new to them. Nancy Neuman, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Jean Bechtel, of Mar- tha Cook, were recently appointed general co-chairmen of Soph Caba- ret. The collection of class dues is to begin Tuesday, Betty Hahneman, finance chairman, announced recent- ly. Representatives will be sent to all dormitories, sororities, and league houses to collect the dues, which are one dollar per person. The collection drive will last for a week, and during the last two days a booth will be set up in the League lobby so that sophomore women living in private homes may pay their dues at that time. The class' dues are used to produce Soph Cabaret. Sophomore women must financially underwrite their own project, and the payment of her dues is one way in which every sophomore woman may support her class. League House Heads Will Meet The first meeting of all League House housemothers will be held at 7:30 p. m. today in the Grand Rapids Room of the League, according to Assistant Dean of Women Mary C. Bromage. There will be a discussion of the new system of interviewing applicant for spring League House accommoda- tions. This system will help coeds living in League Houses to have some preference in the type of accommoda- tion they will have. Health Service standards booklets will be distributed on the proper space, equipment, and sanitary facili- ties for League Houses, and over 30 new League House housemothers will be introduced. Mu Phi Epsilon,'' Elects Officers At First Meeting Mu Phi Epsilon, national profes- sional music sorority, elected new officers at their first meeting of the7 year, Tuesday in the Henderson roome of the League.
