lAY, FEBRUARY 15,19460 THE MIICHIGAN DAiLY _ ._. m m_ __ _ . e Registration To Begin March 4 In League for Formal Rushing Panhel Will Furnish Information Today Second-semester freshmen, sopoh- omores, and upperclassmen wishing to participate in formal rushing, which is scheduled to open on Thurs- day, March 7, must sign up to rush from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, March 4, Tuesday, March 5, or Wednesday, March 6, on the second floor of the League. According to Nancy Jefford, Pan- hellenie rushing chairman, all women wishing to rush must present report cards showing a 'C' average for the fall term. The Panhellenic Office, located in the Kalamazoo room of the League, will be open from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today so that coeds may re- ceive rusing information. All women who sign up to rush must attend a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Rackham Assembly Hall when the present system of rushing will be explained to rushees. Information regarding attending the parties, and instructions concerning the order of visiting the various houses will be distributed at the, meeting. Parties during the first week of! rushing will be head from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 7, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 9, and from' 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 10. These will be followed by invita- tional parties which are scheduled to be held throughout March in the va- rious sorority houses. The formal rushing season will be terminated byI pledging on Sunday, March 31. DeVries To Speak At MCF Banquet The Michigan Christian Fellowship will hold a formal banquet at 6:15 p.m. tomorrow at the League for' members and friends of the organi- zation. The guest for the evening will be Dr. John DeVries, of the chemistry' department of Calvin College. His topic will be, "I Believe In God." ; L P1 I F New Housing Plans Revealed WAB Will Provide Temporary Facilities for Women Students It was announced today by the Of- fice of the Dean of Women that tem- porary housing facilities are being arranged for women students who have not yet completed their living arrangements for the spring term, and students wishing to apply for temporary housing for the period be- tween semesters, Feb. 23 to March 4, should apply at once through the Of- fice of the Dean of Women. Chaperones will be in charge. 4ccemmodations Limited Since the number of accommoda- ;ions of this nature will be limited. the only students eligible will be those women now on campus who have not as yet been able to sign housing con- tracts, and those incoming women students who applied too late to make final arrangements before arriving in town. Students are urged to complete their housing arrangements before the end of the fall term. Women who are definitely assured of remaining on campus for the spring semester have now received their housing assign- ments. Spring Contracts Signed Most women living in league houses, supplementary graduate houses and private homes have signed spring contracts for the same type of living quarters. Some incoming women will be forced to await final housing arrangements until places become available because of last min- ute cancellations. All women needing help on their heusing problems are urged to come to the Office of the Dean of Women immediately. They will be given an opportunity to sign up for temporary housing if necessary. (Continued from Page 5) Pay-Off Dance Will Be -Held The informal Pay-Off Dance, one of the few women-bid danzces pre- sented on the Michigan campus, will be sponsored by Mortar Board from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday, March 9, in the League Ballroom. This dance is a traditional affair and is being revived this year after abandonment during the war years. It has always been given the week- end following the pre-war J-Hops, which was not held during wartime. The dance is presented by Mortar Board, all-campus honorary society for senior women.
