THE MICHIGAN DAILY FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 1945 . Impressions o Campus Life Rendered bFrosh By EUNICE MINTZ and CLAYTON DICKEY Members of the Class of '49, accosted on the Diagonal yesterday by two roving Daily reporters, told their first breathless impressions of Michigan. Shelby Baylis, literary college, was happy because he had found that "classes are not as hard as I expected; they're more like high school." Joan Keltner, literary college, thought the campus was ."big and roomy, but I always wanted to come to a big school." She apparently was enthrall- ed with Michigan men, because "them social life is wonderful." s d Tom Cramer, literary college, was 'U' tiiieit Now Writing Musical Show A musical comedy version of Max Shulman's best seller, "Barefoot Boy With Cheek," is now in the process of composition by three University stu- dents. Those students who are working on Shulman's humorous satire of college life are Marge Fisher, Arthur Markey -and Ruth Wolkowsky. Miss Wolkow- sky composed the original music while the others worked on the lyrics.. The music was submitted by Miss Wolkowsky to Shulman recently in Columbia, S. C. Shulman was just discharged from the Army. There is a possibility that Shulman will visit Ann Arbor to review the script and to consider production of the musical comedy version, accord- ing to the students. In the meantime, final work on the script continues. Markey is a member of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity and has participated in several campus play productions. Miss Wolkowsky graduated from the School of Music in June and is now taking graduate work at the University. She was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority. Miss Fisher is a member of the SIQC Council and lived at Tappan House during the summer. Nims Predicts Sales Tax Revenue, $101,000,000 LANSING, Nov. 1-(M)-Louis M.
