THE MICHIGAN DAILY SUNDAY, DECEMBER 16,1945 Government To Pus Housing Plan Ahead Labor, Management Representatives To Discuss Problems at Conference cials hope to thresh out construction problems with labor and manage- ment representatives of the industry. Sharp Criticism Expected At Monday's opening session, of- dicials of various government agen- ties will outline the general goals of he new housing plan disclosed this week by the President. On one segment of that program- Administration-endorsed legislation for price ceilings on new and exist- ing houses-the government expects a repetition of sharp criticism voiced earlier by realtors and builders. But the home construction indus- try has supported vigorously another najor part of the program providing for restoration of building materials o a priorities system. New Priorities Regulation The new priorities regulation, ear- marking 50 per cent of all building upplies for homes costing $10,000 or less, will be announced about the middle of next week after the con- erence delegates have had a chance o suggest changes in it. The regulation may be presented o the conference with a provision ,hat was not in the original draft- one aiming at assurance that home muyers get their money's worth.
