The stabilization job, in essence, is
that of appeals court from decisions
of the federal war agencies dealing
with civilian economic affairs, such
as the Office of Price Administration
and the War Labor Board, and referee
between such agencies when they
come in conflict.
Vinson Clings to Little Steel Formula
Vinson has clung tightly to the
little steel formula in passing on
general wage increases approved by
the WLB, and in cases of other WLB
pay rulings has sought to give OPA
a veto if they would require compen-
sating price increases. .
That attitude has brought him se-
vere criticism from labor elements.
The white house in announcing
Vinson's nomination for the loan
post said the president had a suc-
cessor for the stabilization hot spot
in mind, but gave no inkling of his
identity.
Cinema Leagotue
Will Present
French Film
The Art Cinema League, which has
been inactive on campus because of
the war, will resume operations when
it brings "Le Jour Se Leve" (Day-
break), starring Jean Gabin to the
Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre at 8:30
p. m. March 8, 9, and 10.
"Le Jour Se Leve" is the last,
and according to the critics the best
picture Jean' Gabin made while in
France. Although this film is in
French there are English sub-titles.
The League, composed of faculty
and student members, is designed to
bring outstanding foreign and do-.
mestic films to the campus and to
promote interest in good cinema art.,
During its existence, the League has
brought such pictures to the tUni-
versity as the Russian films "Volga,
Volga," "Forgotten Village," andI
"Alexander Nevsky," and the French
"La Materelle," "Harvesc," and "The
Baker's Wife."

Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity
will hold a special meeting in the
Michigan Union at 7:30 p. m. This
is an important meeting, and there-
fore it will be necessary for all mem-
bers to be present.
Chi Phi Fraternity: There will be
a meeting at 7:30 tonight in Room
319 of the Union. Any transfer stu-
dents are requested to attend.
The semester's first meeting of the
Polonia Club for all American stu-
dents of Polish descent, will be held
at the International Center tonight
at 7:30 p. m. Mr. S. Lesniewicz
of Detroit will be the club's guest for
the evening.

theatre of the Horace H. Rackham

Beginners' Social Dance Class: The
first of this term will be held in

lessons will be given. No new mem-
bers will be accepted.

The Sociedad Iiispanica will pres-
ent the fourth lecture in the annual
series on Wednesday, March 7, at
8:00 in the Michigan Union. Miss
Blanca Alvarez of Caracas, Venezuela
will speak on "La Familia Venezo-
lana." Tickets for the series and for
the single lecture will be on sale at
the door.
