PRE-CLINICAL PERIOD. Early in her training, the Cadet
Nurse works on the wards, giving "elementary nursing care to
patients, developing skills in simple .nursing procedures and
learning to adjust herself to a busy hospital routine.

OBSTETRICS. In Obstetrics, the Cadet Nurse helps to care
for mtothiers and their brand-new babies. Students give, under
supervision, 80%c of all nursing care in hospitals with schooU of
nursing. 85'c of all Student Nurses are Cadets.

MEDICINE. Medical wards arc busy and exciting, and the
Cadet Nurse gets a great deal of important expericnce. 11cr
ivork there, as on all services, helps release graduate nurses for
duty with the Army and Navy.

GRADUATE. For the dluration, the Cadet Nurse after gradu-
ating is pledgcd to do military or essential civilian nursing. Ini
the care of our war wounded, shoe learns the Latest medical or
surgical techniques in her profession.

In over a thousand h~ospitals
across the country Cadet N urses are
preparing for a proud profession.
While they learn,, they serve.
Their work releases graduate nurses
for military duty. And, as Senior'
Cadets, they may serve in Army,
Navy, Veterans Administration or
Public Health Service hospitals,
"Their work is so important that
the United States Government pro-
vides free, tuition, room, board,

uni formis and monftly allowance.
In return, the Cadet Nurses
pledge to do military or essential
civilian nursing for the duration.
If you want a career with a fu-
ture, and free education for the
proud profession of nursing, check
the list below. See if you meet these
qualifications for enrollment. If you
can answer "yes" to these ques-
tions, you may be eligible for mem-
bership in the United States Cadet
Nurse Corps.

in the hospital will be doubly valuable to the Cadet Npurse
