Enrollment for this course was re- ported at 50 persons, who in order to be eligible must be presently engaged in employment-interviewing in war' } industries. Professor Riegel, in com- menting about the new course, said that it was well-received because of the large employment program that industries expect to be forced to insti- tute in the next six or nine months. "The course includes job analysis for selection purposes, practice inter- viewing, use of references, and the induction of new employees-all sub- jects that personnel managers must be familiar with when interviewing the women, older workers and people transferred from non-essential indus- tries to replace draft losses," Profes- sor Riegel said. The course will last 16 weeks and meetings will be held twice a week. Beginning next Monday two other fall series ESMWT courses will be started in Ann Arbor. These are; courses in mechanical drawing and elementary fundamentals of radio circuits. The mechanical drawing course will involve use of instruments, application of geometry and ortho- graphic projections. In order to en- roll a person must have a high school Speech Defects Of New Students To Be Corrected Freshman and transfer students having speech defects serious enough to warrant training and correction will be notified this week and should apply for an interview as soon as pos- sible after receiving this notification at the Speech Clinic, 1007 E. Any student who hasn't received some communication from the speech clinic, and who is in need of speech correction should call at the speech clinic and make application, as train- ing schedules are being made up now. Student Directs DebateSquad Members of the women's debating team will carry on inter-collegiate debates, discussions and other speech activities this year under the direc- tion of Miss Jane Grills, graduate student. Although no definite schedule has been arranged as yet, plans are under way for debates with Michigan State Normal College, Albion, Kalamazoo College, Western Michigan College of Education and Michigan State Col- lege. The women will also work with Wayne University in some of their speech bureau activities in Detroit. The topic this year is one dealing with post-war world organization. The team will debate the question, "Should the United Nations estab- lish a permanent federal union?" The type of federal union to be established will be considered in the various dis- cussion groups. On Campus...
