THE MICHIGAN DAILY PAGE FiVE Ticket Applications For JoHop To J Lottery Method Of Elimination Will Be Used y Only One Blank To Be Allowed Per Junior Who Must Appear In Person At Union Or League Juniors may apply for tickets to the "College Dance of the Year," the 1942 J-Hop, from 1 p.m. Ito 5 p.m. Tursday and Friday in the Union and League, Bob Begle, tickets chair- man, announced, although the actual ticket sale will not begin until after Christmas. This application system, to be fol- lowed later by the elimination by lottery, is the same process as that used successfully for the first time last -year when it replaced the cum- bersome and usually unfair "first come first served" method. Each, junior must apply in person at the Union or League and must pre- sent his own identification card in order to receive an application form. Only one blank will be permitted per junior and it must be turned in along with a self-addressed, stamped en- velope. No Application Charge There is no charge for application and Begle stressed that no prefer- ence will .be given to application by their~ order of submission nor would bloc reservations be allowed. Reply cards will be sen't to all ap- plicants within a week of applica- tion indicating acceptance or refusal. Those juniors receiving "accepted" reply cards will be required to pre- . sent them at the final ticket sale- the exact time and place to be an- nounced later. One thousand two hundred fifty tickets will be sold this year, Begle further announced, which is 50 more than the quota last year. In the event that applications exceed this limit, a lottery will be conducted to reduce the number. Assisting Begle with the applica- tion system of ticket sale are Ed- ward Aldworth, Leroy Aldinger, Pete Smith, Charles Kennedy, Lyons How- land and Richard Simon. To Be Two Nights Last year's J-Hop marked the in- ception of a new type of social event in the midwest. The two-night af- fair coupled with the best dance bands in the country met with the unanimous approval of the campus.) Not only did it supplement the house parties and other festivities of the weekend, but the old question of "what to do on Saturday night" was solved. "The J-Hop committee hopes that we may have your hearty support so that the Michigan J-Hop. will con- tinue in its position of renown among the famous college dances."--Ted Sharp, general chairman.
