Finally Ann Arbor has returned to the groove and last week-end was the first time things got hot here. Maybe the weather had something to do with it Who knows? Really, tho, there was plenty doing and so I've got a lotta things, both black and white, to jot down in my traditional little red book. Stuff began to move all the way back to Wednesday when Tad called' and conscripted me to go to the Maj with him. Golly, the place was mobbed with stags, all with morose faces. If that's what the army men are going tod look like, I'll be darned if I'll play nurse to them as I'd planned. They can get sick all by themselves. Thursday I trotted to the PACI T-dance at the League-mostly just to see who was there. Saw Phyllis Gardiner introducing herself to Bob Hodgeson and Carol Forsyth strolling .out with Harry Aligon. Incidentally, deah diary, who do you think of yours truly dating one of those cute freshman men? They sure are nice . .. O. K. I'll be my age but if one of them asks me, maybe I'll change my nind. Friday Started With A Bang. Friday nite Tad and I started with a bang at the Union. Oodles and I oodles of people were there and so I waltzed to Sawyer with a pad and pencil so I'd remember to tell you who all was there. Made me feel awful important to haye ', people stare as tho I were a REAL reporter. Mait Comb * and Martha Option waved as they whizzed by. Bunny .. Norris was there with her track man, Don Canham, and Arlene Ross and George Castle were looking pretty soulful I aboutthe whole thing, departing early for the mysterious " western direction of town which it's Daily style not to / mention. Another unmentionable-who was the blond that Ye Sports Ed was seen with? Dashed to the Pi Lamnbda house where alums were all over, even-hanging from the chandeliers-Rita Goldstein and Jerry Schneider were blissfully dancing, unaware of even me. Bud Gins, Cyril Hawkins, Mike Kane andt Elaine Grambacker were having fun and asked us to join but Tad wasj adamant in wanting to go over to the League to say hello to Jack SullivanI and Peg Duffey, whom he had promised to meet at the Newman Club dance. When we got there, things were in hightime (nasty pun, eh what?) and so Joanne Bouchard and Wade Flaherty and Bob Ellis and Kay McDermott showed us around. Was almost curfew but Tad and I did run in at the S.A.E. house to see the alum shindig. Kay Hood was giggling away with Jay McDowell. Frank May and Martha Lady left with us but we had to flee for the Hill so I wouldn't be late. Satdy slept until noon and what a day! To go or not to go, that was the question. But not for long. Tad, the dog, simply called for me all wrapped up like a cocoon. Honestly, he simply takes me too much for granted, don't you think? After the formal I think I'll break up. Art Dardan, Marian Mann, Dotty Dunlap and Bill Loud sat next to us at the game. It was amazing after the first hour, we didn't even mind the rain. Don't think Harmon did either, but I forgot to ask him.
