The spectators will get their share of thrills too in the 200-yard relays. The top Wolverine sprinters, Barker, Gus Sharemet, Gillis and Holmes, have been given a six count handi- cap while Dobson Burton, Beebe,. Jim Welsh, and lastyear's captain Tom Haynie will take off after the count of four. World Records To Fall As hasrbeen the customain the past years of the festival, world records are destined to fall when Matt Mann's swimmers get together in the Gala. This year yearling Skinner, a six foot, one inch, Ann Arbor lad, will be favored to dump' the present 100-yard mark in the breast stroke. At present, the record approved by the A.A.U. is 1:03.5, set by Jacl asley, the Wolverine star and captain, in 1935. According to Coach Mann, "Skin- Maple Leafs To Loan Out In ured Walter Stanowski TORONTO, Nov. 22.--P)-Man- ager Conny Smythe of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League announced tonight that Wal- ter Stanowski, rookie defenseman, will be loaned to a minor league team when his injured ankle heals, to allow him to get back into condition. Smythe said Stanowski, who played with Syracuse of the International American League last season, is ex- pected back on skates at the end of this week. He then will be sent to some International-American League club for a couple of weeks. State Tries Passes For Temple Game EAST LANSING, Nov. 22.-(P))- Despite Michigan State's general lack of success in passing this fall, it probably will depend mainly on that form of attack in its final game here Saturday with Temple. The Philadelphia Owls have not been noted for an aerial game this season and it seems to be Coach Charley Bachman's hope that he can ;ain -an advantage with plenty of passes.: Temple is bringing a line averaging 200 pounds to East Lansing and a brace of backs who have made good shoWing with a running attack.
