PAGE SIX THE MICHIGAN DAILY Tea For Senior Women To Be Held Thursday At League Scroll To Plan Annual Event For Alumnae Dancing Will Be Featured At 'Futurauza'; Council Members To Hostess Members of Scroll, senior women'sz honorary society, are in charge of arrangements for "Futurama", the annual tea sponsored by the Alum- nae Council which will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the League Ballroom, Anne Hawley, '40, president of Scroll, announced yesterday. All senior women are invited to attend and hostesses for the tea in- clude members of the 1939-40 League Council as well as Scroll. Offer Informal Dancing The affair will be informal, and there will be dancing to victrola records for all who wish to dance. This is a unique opportunity for all senior women to meet alumnae mem- bers and other seniors who will be living in the same localities they will. Ann Arbor members of the board of directors of the Alumnae Council will pour. They include Mrs. Irene Johnson, Mrs. Clarence Skinner, Mrs. Theophile Raphael, Mrs. A. C. Furstenberg, Mrs. Alfred Connable, Regent Esther Cram, Mrs. Seymour P. Conger, and Mrs. James Kennedy. To Receive Pamphlets Each senior woman attending will receive a pamphlet explaining the function of alumnae groups for wo- men. These were written by Jane Nussbaum, '40, and illustrated by Ella Stowe, '40. Hostesses for the tea anticipate 100 per cent attendance by senior wo- men in all schools, Miss Hawley said. This is the first year that members of Scroll have been in charge of the tea, which is always given, however, by the alumnae. The Outdoor Sports Club is your answer. Under the sponsorship of the Women's Athletic Association and the managership of Gertrude Inwood, '43, it offers organized out- ings for all women on campus. Hik- ing, canoeing, bicycling and roller skating are among the sports on their program. To Join Youth Hostel Membership in youth hostels is also among the clubs interests. It plans to join the national youth hos- tel movement, at one dollar a mem- bership, and rent bicycles for the trips. The first trip will be May 18 and 19, and there will be another in the fall. The night at the hostel costs 25 cents, and the women provide their own food. Those collecting the' money for this trip are Shyrl Gould, '43, Sylvia Glickman, '43, and Nor- ma Fuson, '43, and anyone who is in- terested should contact them by May 4. Union Saunters Held Club. The next one will be May 5 and both men and women are invit- ed. Next Sunday there will be a breakfast hike, to be attended by women only.
