And with that did one of the local lads express his sentiments concerning the most recent thing to hit Ann Arbor this week end . . . another shipment of wooden shoes! But the arrival of those sabots was not the only interest- ing event this week end. The fun started Friday afternoon with everybody who could ski and more often thoseI who couldn't, doing their best to go down theI hills in the Arboretum standing up. Marg Dodge, Ruth Mary Smith, alias, "Susie," and Vicky Gel- latly and Helene Deutsch were just a few whom -we saw getting tangled up in the snow. That night the Sigma Nu's had a sleigh ride the real thing this time . . . But not everything is perfect. Helen McRae and Sorky Adams and Marian Young and Ed Adams were two couples wlhp were trying' to keep warm when the sleigh broke down unexpectedly. League And Union Ppular However other people had other ideas. B. J. Crawford and Fred Guert- ler preferred the League. They and Betty Pusch and Ed Purman were heard requesting some of the latest from Charlie. Out in the concourse we ran into Jean Belle King and Elmer Steven Holman, Jr. (merely called Holman) and farther on into Barb Benedictine with a goodlooking-tall-blond-blue- eyed fellow . . . sorry we're not printing his telephone number. Over at the Union, we saw just loads of people we knew. Barb Dittman and Johnny Munson were seen waving to Nancy Gould and Bob Burkhalter. On the other side of the ballroom Nancy Chapman and Ted Kennedy seemed, to be enjoying themselves at the expense of Bob Steinle (Bob was feeling very good Friday) and Jack Detwiler and Marg Braden shagged by feeling very peppy. During intermission Dolly Haas, Dick Livingstone, Betty- Fariss and Mark Cheever were seen in the tap room enjoying a large coke apiece. Woolley nd Owens Study .. Saturday night was no quieter than Friday, but we know of at least two people who were celebrating in a way in which lots of others were. B. Woolly and "Sailor" Jack Owens spent that night doing a stretch, in the "legal re- search building" . . . Law library to the lit stu- dent. It seems they're doing it to show up the rest of the junior class. Now that's ambition ... But thank goodness for people like the * Kappa Sigma's and the Theta Chi's. Both held an exchange dance with people goig from one house to the other. Suzy Bentley and Rod Alex- ander were having such a good time at the Kappa Sig house and they didn't get to Theta Chi. Betty Whitely and Port Brown danced by Shirly Foberts and date as they were leaving. Over at Theta Chi, Chloe Ann Van Schoick was in heated discussion with Gordon Hardy, but Marjorie "Keppy" Kephart and Bob McKenzie came over and all sane conversa- tion stopped for a while. Whitten, Iowa's gift to the freshman Law class, Gene Hopkins,. sat up ij his room Saturday night penning his idea of a good pleading and allega- tion why Marcia Connell ought to attend the Crease Ball with him in May. Gene danced with Marcia once at a Law Club tea dance and thinks she is all right. As usual the Union did not lack for dancers. Marg Whittemore and Bill Lyeman were having a hilarious time trying to make themselves heard over Steinle's Sugarfoot Stomp. Last we heard they were still shouting. Over at one table Jack Probst and Evelyn Brown were trying to order a tin toof sundae without the nuts, while Jan Clark and Ros Campbell were satisfied with a coke . . . with that Party Line hangs up until next semes- Iter . . . good luck on the exams. .
