Limb or life decision faced the father of Dorothy Lewis, 8, of New
York, who plays with her doll unaware of pending fate. Physicians told
the father that Dorothy, afflicted with cancer of the thigh, had slan
chance of living without an operation. Surgery offers her a 1-10 chance,
medical n~en said; the father hopes girl can survive without amputation.

Loretta Young of the films, when
questioned by government investi-
gators, denied she was engaged to
William P. Buckner, Jr., New York
promoter, but said she thought he
is a "lovely boy." Buckner is ac-
cused of mail fraud in connection
with the sale of Philippine railroad
bonds. Asked if she planned to
marry Buckner, Miss Young. re-
plied: "It's a questioA for him to
answer."

St. Moritz, Switzerland for a winter
holiday. He was born Feb. 24, 1936.

With the, courage of her convictions, wealthy Mrs. Harry Bijur marches with pickets in front of the
fashionable New York building where she occupies a nine-room apartment. She denies any "red" leanings,
says she'll help the men until they're put back to work. The signs carried by the pickets refer to the New York
state banking department *hich operates the building. "It's a matter of justice," Mrs. Bijur tells her friends.
She and her husband have spent over $3,000 feeding the 20 striking employes since the men were called out
two months ago.

Louis Greenfield, 42-'year-old
New York milliner, is shown after,
