roling, and a general atmo-phere of
gaiety and good cheer see.. to sym-
bolize Christmas for us. Informal
occasions such as dances, open
houses, or teas are also chr acteristic
of Christmas and comprise one of
the merriest phases of the holidays.
For such busy days, it is the dream
of all college women to possess a va-
riety of date dresses which the events
of their social calendar' necessitate.
Limited incomes tend to shatter our
dreams of an extensive shopping tour,
but the shops are well supplied with!
smart frocks at the prices directed by
our pocket books.
Black With White Contrast
For the winter season, *iogue in-
sists on black and white as the smart-
est color combination. One frock
carrying out this color theme is made
of black crepe and features the new
rose-pleated sleeves and a low V-
neck. Delicate white lace is used in
the yoke of another black crepe with
a full skirt. Sheer black wool forms
a smart dress with pleating and lame
