Ann Arbor's policemen and firemen, on call 24
hours a day, are ready at all times to protect the lives
and property of you citizens. You depend on them for
your security. These men now are asking you to pro-
vide them with security in the form of a retirement
and pension fund. No such fund is in existence now
and policemen and firemen do not come under the
provisions of the Social Security Act. They are thus
without the protection they deserve.
On your ballot for the general election Tuesday,
November 8, you will find Amendment 63A to the
City Charter. When this amendment is passed, each:
policeman and fireman will be required to contribute
three per cent of his wages toward the retirement and

pension fund. The remainder, three-tenths of
mill, will be contributed by the city.

Watch for This Amendment

But Ann Arbor's policemen and firemen will go
farther than they are required because, when the
amendment is adopted, they will immediately place
in the pension and retirement fund a sum in excess
of $10,000, raised by means of the annual Police-
men's-Firemen's dances and by -assessments volun-
tarily made against their wages.
Ann Arbor's policemen and firemen, rated among
the best in me state, are called constantly to risk their
lives in their work of protecting you and your pro-
perty. They deserve the security they give you. Vote
'Yes on Amendment 63A to the City Charter.
