Ruth Adele McDonald, '3,8, and El- bert Edgar Haight, '3$BE, were mar- ried at 3:30 p. m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Flint. Miss McDonald is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. McDonald of Flint, and Mr. Haight is the son of Mrs. E. E. Haight of Manitowoc, Wis. Betty Ward, '39, assisted the bride as the maid of honor and the two bridesmaids were Betty Moloney and Janet Kennelly, a cousin of Miss Mc- Donald. E. E. Christiansen, of Mani- towoc, performed the duties of best man, and Gordon McDonald and Donald R. Knapp, '38E, of the Island of Sumatra, were chosen to be ushers for the ceremony. Reception Held at Home Following a reception at the home of the bride's parents, the couple left for: a trip through Northern Michi- gan. Mr. and Mrs. Haight will return to the University, and will live at the Washtenaw Apartments during the school year. A recent engagement of interest to University circles was recently an- nounced in Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. John Newton Fauver have announce4 the engagement of their daughter, Jane, to Dr. Frederick A. Henny of Detroit, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Henny of Flint. Mrs. Henny and Mrs. Philip C. Gibbs poured at the announcement tea. The wedding date has been set for Oct. 29 in the Wesley Chapel of the Metropolitan Methodist Episcopal Church of Detroit. Miss Fauver has chosen her sister, Betty, '38, to be her maid of honor, and Mrs. William S. Fenner, Jr., of Rochester, and Mrs. Casper Beimfohr- as bridesmaids. Serves As Best Man Dr. Stuart Swanton, '35D, of Lan- sing, will be best man and the ushers for the affair will be Dr. Frank Ren- nell, '36D and John Fauver, brother of the bride. Miss Fauver was gradu- ated from the literary college of the University in the class of '34, and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega soror- ity. Mary Helen McIntosh, '34, of Lake Linden, formerly of Ann Arbor and John Frederick McCaslin, of Stevens Point, were married at noon Satur- day, Aug. 20 in the formal garden of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Benedict at Lake Linden. Miss McIntosh is the daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Rcbert McIntosh. Mrs. William Vigelius, of Calumet, sang before the ceremony, and Mrs. Ransom Pearce, pianist, Henry Han- sen and Jane Baccus, violinist, played the wedding marches. Mrs. Lloyd Cody of Ann Arbor was the matron of honor. The bride and Mrs. Cody roomed together at Mosher-Jordan for four years, and Miss McIntosh was maid of honor for Mrs. Cody when she married Dr. Cody here in Aug. 1935. Classmates Assist The bridesmaids were Sally Man- thei, '40, of Lake Linden, and Dorothy Dean Baldwin of Jacksonville, Il., a classmate of the bride at Clarke School in Northampton, Mass. The flower girl was Mary Louise Pearce. Albert Clark, of Cincinnati, a fra- ternity brother of the groom, assisted as best man and the ushers' duties were carried out by Robert Beggs, of Marshfield, Wis., Edwin West of Appleton, Wis., and Fred McIntosh of Chicago, brother of the bride. Engagement Is Announced Another engagement of a University alumni was made known when Mr. and Mrs. Charles Watt Erickson of Detroit, announced the betrothal of their daughter, Rebecca Jane Erick- son, to Robert Bruce Rutherford, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bruce Ruther- ford. The wedding will take place this winter. Miss Erickson is a graduate of Miss Newman's School and Mount Hol- yoke College. Mr. Rutherford attend- ed Highland Park Junior College and the University, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraterni- ty. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jesperson, of Petoskey, have announced the en- gagement of their daughter, Helen, '38, to Theodore Miller, '36, son of Mrs. T. F. Miller and the late Mr. Miller, of Dunkirk, Ill.
