For romance of the bounding main the program provides adven- turous Captain Warwick Thompkins. His log book for nine years on the "Wander Bird" covers voyages to- taling 100,000 miles and his book sFifty South to Fifty South" won universal acclaim. Probably better' than any other living man, he is qualified to tell the thrilling tale of a voyage"west around Cape Horn." Col. W. Stewart-Roddie presents "European Mosaic" - tragedy face to face with humor, romance op- posite realism. Possessing the ability to recreate vividly the scenes and characters he describes, Col. Stewart- Roddie's subject is one worthy of his ability. And he is thoroughlyb familiar with the European countries which importantly contribute to the world political picture. Another speaker whose popularity on a previous appearance resulted in the Association negotiating for his return is Capt. C. W. R. Knight who is known throughout the United States simply as "The Bird Man." Just returned from leading an ex- pedition to South Africa, he will show films featuring such rarities as the Coronation Eagle and White Rhino. Harrison Forman, contributor to such magazines as Harpers, The Readers Digest and National Geo- graphic, will end the lecture series with his tales of adventure in Tibet,, upon which he is a recognized auth. ority. It was Forman who acted as technical advisor for the film {'Lost Horizon" and he has what critics describe as "an interesting story and vivid motion pictures" of the mys- terious eastern land around which the film was centered. / Dr. Paul van Zeeland MAIN MAIN FIRST .o..%4...
