HE MICHIGAN DAILY Broadcasting Service Expansion Hits Record With 376 Programs ...._.:. i Kel ly Gives Fiorello Odds On Series Bet 11 By ETHEL NORBERG From 10 programs in 1925, the University Broadcasting Service has progressed to the present peak of 376 for the coming year. Entering its 14th season, the Broadcasting Serv- ice, which is directed by Prof. Waldo Abbott of the speech department, will go on the air from Morris Hall 18 times weekly beginning Sunday Ot. 9. Chier among these will be the outlet over the Red Network of the NBCZ from 12:45 to 1:15 every Tuesday. At this time, Prof. Joseph E. Maddy of the School of Music will present his course in music instruction called "Music Makers." It is the first time in the history of radio that the large: network has permitted a University toI originate regular weekly programs. Musicians on the program are NYA workers from the University. The remaining radio programs are sent over radio stations WJR and WMBC. Complete facilities for broadcasting are available at the Morris Hall stu- dios. Included among these are thel control room, ensemble studios, speak- er's booth and band room.
