MAY 12y .1339 THE MICHIGAN DAILY FRIPAYJ MAY L2~. 1939 Rural Schools Chorus To Sing Washtenaw School Pupils To Give Free Concert Music from Washtenaw county's rural schools will come to the city next Tuesday, May 16, when a cast of 695 children will present their sev- enth annual May music festival in Hill Auditorium. The rural school children will offer a children chorus of 455 voices and a varied program of folk dances. They will' be assisted in the concert by the Ann Arbor Civic Orchestra, directed by William R. Champion. Students from grades -8 will take part in the festival. They are directed by Miss Mary Ann Collinge. Miss * Mary E. Porter, a student in the Uni- versity School of Music, and Hardin A. Van Deursen, instructor in the School of Music, will also take part. The rural music festival, final dress rehearsal for which will be heldrin Hill Auditorium, Monday morning,; will be open to the general public without an admission charge.
