H 30, 1939 T - . - E CI A DAILY FAA New Officers Of League To Be Installed At Banquet Today Moping On The Mall By Meandering Minnie We just figured out why-spring vacation comes when it does. J.G.P. is over and Freshman Project isn't well under way as yet, so one has to do something so-o-o-o- time out, n'est-ce pas? Major regret is that people didn't take the hint from the Can-can number and remake their sentences with the result-"The Can-can girls girls could could dance dance." Good idea, don't you think-or do you? There are things going on though. Crease Ball to- morrow night. We finally found the young lady who outwitted the subpoenas. Sally Ann Curry whizzed down to the county clerk's office upon receiving hers " and obtained a divorce file charging extreme cruelty (spankings, etc.) violent language (darn, heck) and misrepresentation of fact. Non-support was the height of the charges. After all who can survive on only one package of cigarettes per date. But the law always wins out or at least the lawyers do, for Leonard Sweet sent a Replica- tion which dcnicd "all charges, claims" on the grounds that "the answer of said defendant is uncertain and irrelevant in its stipulations, untrue in all its various and sundry lewd implications, and an inadequate lament of a minor and an infant, that is, a child not yet 21, insufficient to be replied to by this repliant--in the Crease Court." Exchange Dinners Run Rife Again! And then there's the foursome that got up at four o'clock to study. That's going a bit too far, we think. If you can't afford a spring wardrobe to exchange, at least you can ex- change dinners. Anyway the Kappas and the Phi Psis got together last night, -some here and some there or what have you? A leetle cheely for the Phi Psis to display the merits of their terrace as a dance floor but according to Margaret Cram and Russ Strickland, Jane Hart and Bill Laud, and Florence Brotherton and Ross Faulkner a good time was had by all when Do Gilliam and Cliff James, Patty Nahser and Jim Harper and Dottie Aikens will vouch for the fun at the Kappa house. Harriet Sharkey, Janet Homer, and Jane Grove were at the tea given yesterday afternoon by Jane Hartman, retiring W.A.A. officer for the new board. Alberta Royal and Jeannette Stickels were also there as were Ruth Allen and Louise Keller. A lot goes on at the WA Building which is quite fun. Just ask any of the past or present participants. Play Production Gives Shakespeare Whirl "Two Gentlemen of Verona" arrived in town last night. Delightful pair, you must take time out to meet them. Whisking around at rehearsals were Marguerite Mink, Ellen Rothblatt, and Edward Jurist. Karl Klauser, Bettie Howard, and Miriam Brous are also much in evi-i. dence as interpreters of Shakespeare.- Before we forget it, we must scurry over to the , ., Union and go in and out the front door three or four or maybe even five or six or as many times as we want to in fact, while we have the chance. Wonder why the League lets men in the front door? If we were Carrie Nation we would object or something. Installation banquet tonight. Great hordes of women will descend on the League to see the "in with the new and out with the old" ceremonies. It T- should be quite jolly. What is that old saying? Minnie's heard it min-1 nie times. "Easter time's the time for yeggs" or something. Well, as we've always said "Ending time's the time for finishing" or what have you-? That's right, perpetual motion.
