F. (Chick) Meehan, head football
coach at Manhattan College for the
past six years, today resigned his post
in order to devote his entire time to
business affairs. College authorities
said no successor had yet been con-
sidered.
Meehan formerly coached football
at Syracuse and New York University,
turning out top-flight teams at both
universities. He took over the reins
at Manhattan six years ago withthe
announcement he intended to become.
a "small time" coach, but has grad-
ually built up the Jaspers' teams un-
til they have won national recogni-
t ion.
The 1937 team was the most suc-
