Red-haired Doug Farmer, quarter- back, who entered first string play this fall after showing strategical blocking ability last spring in the re- serves, plans to enter medicine next fall. President of the senior class of the literary college, president of his fraternity, he's mixed politics with athletics. Journalist Earle Luby, Varsity tackle for two years, and president of Michigamua, will continue with further study after graduation and plans to eventually teach American Literature. A distinguished English student here, he is a winner of a Hopwood award in this field and is a member of the Daily editorial staff Barclay Is Also Good Golfer Golfer Bill Barclay, Varsity quar- terback for two years, is a fine stra- tegist whose principle drawback- has!. _ been a lack of brawn. Semi-final- ist in the Michigan State Amat eur in 1936, he did not enter this year, but went to the semi-finals of the National Collegiate golf tourney this year by chalking up the meet's big- gest upset when he beat favored Willie Turnesa. "Baron" Bob Campbell, the best story teller on the squad, halfback, earned his Varsity letter as a result of his triple-threat showing in his sophomore year. A reserve last year he has seen most of his p)ay this year as a blocking quarterback. Art Valpey, who has earned his let- ters twice at end, reported this fall, with increased speed and blocking ability. He hails from Dayton, Ohio and plans to go into coaching or running a boys' c~amn ~ae s~e - -asrSA- oiore, in fading to spot a receiver, and then scampering up the opened center aisle managed to get to Ohio's 13, where the ball changed hands on , downs.
