Atouncoos 'VetcBoard First Showing Of 'xcursion' Will Be Oct. 28 Performances To Include' Saturday Matinee; Box! Office ToOpen Today The opening date for "Excursion," to be presented by Play Production, has been changed to Thursday, Oct. 28, according to Valentine B. Windt.; Performances will be given Oct. 28,1 29 and 30, with a Saturday matinee, Mr. Windt stated. The box office will be open from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. beginning today for sale of tickets, which will- be priced at 35, 50 and 75 cents. "Excursion" is a fantastic comedy woven about the story of the ex- perience which takes place on the pleasure "tub," The S.S. Happiness. The boat is on its last trip to Coney Island, after which it will be docked. Many of the most loyal passengers are on board to see it off to the last voy- age. To Obediah Rich, the benign ,kipper, the occasion is especially dis- heartening. He decides to turn his ship off the return course and sail I to a far off island where they can dwell in peace and Arcadian plenty.1 The plans of the shipper are thwarted soon after the Happiness! turns her course southward by a Coast Guard cutter which corners the boat and bullies her back fromj Sandy Hook to the Hudson's hum-j drum confines. But a symbolic ray of hope--"freedom lies ahead"--is an- nounced by the radio and the play ends in expectation of a grand to-I morrow.
