Slosson of the his- tory department was granted a leave of absence for the school year, 1938- 39, to accept a Carnegie visiting pro- fessorship at the University of Bristol, Eng. The University's curriculum for dental hygienists will be extended from one year to two years next year in order to include more training in technical procedures. Prof. Alfred Lee of the modern languages department was named , professor of the history of medicine also. Regent David H. Crowley of De- troit was appointed to the board of governors of the Lawyers Colub, suc- ceeding James 0. Murfin, who left the board at the end of last year.
