Clements library by Prof. Walter L. Wright, president of Roberts College in Istanbul, Turkey. One of the first 17 books ever printed in the Turkish language, the volume, called "History of the West Indies or New Events" was im- printed sometime between 1727 and 1742. It consists of 96 pages but is numbered by leaves, or double pages. The first 31 leaves of the book deal with geographical knowledge of Europe and Asia. The last 17 leaves give a short account of the discovery of American islands and the continent, together with informa- tion concerning its people, flora and fauna.
