Blanks for the applica- tions are available in the office and will be accepted through Saturday. according to Charlotte Rueger, '37, president of the League. This is the second year that the Ethel McCormick Scholarships have been awarded and recipients of last years awards were Elsie Pierce, Mar- jorie Turner and Mary Ellen Heitsch. The scholarships, which consist of $100 each, are incorporated in the Michigan League Undergraduate Council Awards and are named to honor the social chairman of the League. Sophomore and junior women who have a scholastic average of 1.7 are eligible to apply for the scholarships which are to be used in the junior and senior years respectively. Qualifica- tions for the awards are: ability and leadership as exemplified in partici- pation in women's activities which are included under the merit system, To Hold Check-Up On Merit System All sophomore, junior and senior women are urged to check up on their merit points as entered by the merit system committee, according to Rita Wellman, '37, chairman of the committee. The times set for this are from 3 to 5 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday and Friday in the Undergraduate of- fice of the League. The committee maintains an in- dividual card file system of merit .points. There is a separate card for+ every woman on campus and the number of points which she has earned through various activities+ throughout her every year on campus. The accuracy of these entries is checked annually by opening the files to the women themselves. Sherman of the forestry school and Mrs. Sharman and their sons Jack and Lewis, have returned to Ann Arbor after having traveled since June.
