Eileen McManus, '36, daughter of Mrs. William Henry McManus of De- troit, will marry Robert A. Choate, '36L, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Choate of Greenville, Saturday in the League Chapel. Miss McManus was a member of Alpha Kappa Delta, Black Quill and Senior Society. She was also secre- tary of Helen Newberry, served on the League board of governors and was on the finance committee. Mr. Choate was a member of Tau Beta Pi during his enrollment in the engineering school and later became affiliated with the Society of Indus- trial Lawyers. Helen D. Osborn, Grad., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Osborn of Sault Ste. Marie, has recently an- nounced her engagement to Dr. Ro- bert Jess Patton, son of Dr. and Mrs. 'harles L. Patton of Springfield, Ill. Miss Osborn, who lives at Martha Cook, is a granddaughter of Chase S. Osborn, a former governor of this State. Phoebe Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Bennett of De- troit, announced. her engagement to Harold A. Sleeper, '31, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Sleeper of Detroit. Miss Bennett attended the Liggett School in Detroit, Miss Hall's School at Pittsfield, Mass., and the Garland School in Boston. Mr. Sleeper is a graduate of the Harvard Law School as well as of the University. ALPHA DELTA PI HONORED The national scholarship cup of Alpha Delta Pi has been awarded to the local chapter. Junior Girls Play Nets $310 For League Fund Profit from the 1937 Junior Girls Play amounted to $310.04, according to Margaret Ferries, finance chair- man of the production. It is called "Cherie" by its designer, which name was undoubtedly inspired by the round cherry-like buttons decorating it. The skirt is detachable and may be worn around the shoulders for the sake of variety as well as for pro- tection against the sun's rays. This suit is very fitted and is of ripply wool. Shantung is the material used in a suit with a red background on which fish swim in all varieties from the ferocious octopus to the meek- eyed jelly fish. At least they ap- pear to be such in spite of the strange colors which camouflage their true natures. They seem to be busy en- would leave, most fish gasping for breath. This suit is styled with a fitted top and the straps over the shoulders continue at the waistline to tie in back. It is also made with a blue background.
