THINGS are coming to an end, gals-yes, and it's with reluctance that we have to admit it. And only trouble is that it ends with such an enormous let-down-speaking of those dear examinations-but don't let it get you down, there are good times ahead: this sum- mer strangely enough, and quicker than you think, the new year will roll around again!, CLOSING YEARS, June, spring -yes, they spell that longed-for but regretted-when -it- comes grad- uation day. And you grave sen- iors, since you'll be thinking of so many other things right now, I just thought that I'd save you a little extra thought about those graduation gifts for all your friends by giving a few sugges- tions. Yes, I've been gadding again - and here's what I've found! For the very extra special friend, CALKINS - FLETCHERS suggest a beautiful leather-bound overnight kit, travel kit, or what have you. Now a stunning black one, for example, caught my eye- and on opening it I merely gasped, you would too! It is lined with a lovely black silk, and there are many little silver-topped jars of powder and face creams for every purpose. Then there are several lotion bottles (these are filled, incidentally, with Dorothy Gray products), a lipstick, mascara, a rubberized pocket for your wash- cloth and toothbrush, and a very handy and sensible-sized mirror (big enough to see your whole face instead of just an eye). How does that sound? Well, you should see it! Nothing but the best for the best, I always say! THEN GADDING on down .the street, I saw just the thing for you watchers of the graduation-- and something that will be cool, understand, but dressy enough for the occasion. It was the ELIZA- BETH DILLON SHOP again, as usual-and the outfit was a light pastel or white summer suit. Now there is a variety of kinds-pastel or white gaberdines, shark skin, silk linen, or that new vitacool material. These come either in the plain or the by-swing back. And just picture one of these light suits with a dark-colored (or light if you prefer) blouse. Is your mind's eye in shape these days? Well this dark and light combina- tion is defiinitely in this season and Miss Dillon can furnish the entire outfit O, yes, and inci- dentally, have you seen those new silk jersey short-sleeved blouses? And the delicious colors? You should! * * * ALL CURLED UP for exam studying? You should be think- ing too of getting all curled up for that vacation that is practi- cally upon us. You'll be wanting a new permanent for the summer swims-for you know as well as I the horror of difoopy wet hair- now don't you? Well, I've found the remedy for all the distress! Yes, all you have to do is to put yourself in the hands of Mrs. Di at DI MATTIA BEAUTY SHOP and you can have that new per- manent you've been wanting and that you'll be needing. Or if you are one of those rarities that doesn't need a permanent, then I suggest that you at least have it set before the end. Let this be a suggestion to the seniors too--you know we must have our seniors curly around the mortar boards. Am I right? Right! * * ' AND THEN for those with lovely plans for a June wedding, Ann Arbor has made preparation! We aim to please, you see! And so does JUNE GRAY in her original hat-designing and -making shop. Wedding veils of snow white or ivory net and attractive brides- maids caps are her specialty for the June bride. These she will design to order with suggestions of clever talent for her art (really her ideas can't be beaten). And then if you're planning the trous- seau, you'll be wanting June to create some day-time hats to match those various and sundry outfits. So go to June Gray and be the smart June bride-and take not this advice too lightly for this is an all-important event and she is the most ingenious litt hat- designer you ever did see! * *: *$ A PARTING SHOT, of course, (or should I say a bee-line) for the PARROT. But this won't have to stop just because exams are beginning, this is the before- between, and after the exam refuge. And there's nothing like one of those refreshing Parrot cokes to set you up! And have you heard about their mint cokes? Well, it's time you did! They are the best sort of setter-upper for a hot afternoon and exam-study intermission. One caution, though, no hashing over exams! They are past experience when once they are taken and it's MUCH better for the general mental spirit to forget - after all we must live in the present and the future only New York ........... 000 000 040 Philadelphia ........010 001 000 1st Game Boston ..............010 000 000 3! .23 Chicago Cleveland ...........000 011 020 ...........000 100 000 2nd Game 4 1 a similar ring but that didn't bother ,U - ,-----n,___ Ic tennis tournament completed the , By ROY HEATH Sam.
