Mrs. Ruth- ven chose a navy-blue silk afternoon dress trimmed with white buttons for the occasion. Hope Hartwig, '38, president of the League, wore a dubonnet linen suit with an aquamarine chiffon scarf, and Florence McConkey, '38A, League vice-president, had on a mustard' colored silk dress with brown acces- sories. Both Miss Hartwig and Miss McConkey served tea in the dining- room.. Miss Ethel McCormick and Prof. Philip Bursley were seen talking to President and Mrs. Ruthven in the livingroom. Miss McCormick wore a black and white afternoon dress. Among the Delta Gammas honored at the tea were Barbara Bradfield, '38, Jean Hatfield, '37, and Nancy Olds, '37. A group of the Pi Beta Phis were seen enjoying their tea in the library, among whom were Ann Gifford, '39, Jean Smith, '40, and Ruth Wash- burn, '40. Mrs. Robert M. Hidey announced the engagement of her daughter, Mary Jane Crowley, '38, to Stanley Warren Connelly at a tea held in the Hidey home in, Detroit Saturday. Mr. Connelly is the son of Mrs. Louis G. Grover of Chicago. News of the betrothal was told as a surprise at the tea held for Betty Shierson, '38, sorority sister of Miss Crowley. The wedding: has -been. set for June 29 in the Hidey hormle. Miss Crowley attended the Univer- sity of California and is now at the University of Michigan where she, is affiliatec with Alpha Phi.
